Dec 14, 2015 · The TMP006 is an embedded thermopile sensor that absorbs Infrared radiation emitted by a surface towards which you point it. It generates a small voltage proportional to the radiation falling on it, which the RBPi substitutes in a polynomial equation.
This sensor uses a thermopile to absorb the infrared energy emitted from the object being measured and uses the corresponding change in thermopile voltage to determine the object temperature.
